Swimwear. Is it ever to early to think about beach outfits?

March 31, 2018

It feels like spring today so no better time to write about swimwear. I love chasing the sun, so I'm always looking at the different styles and whats out. With plenty of celebs of all shapes and sizes in swimwear gracing social media, its never hard to find something that will suit you or your body shape.

It is the 1930s and 1940s styles that inspire me the most. High rise bikini bottoms are a must have any time of year, not just 2018. They are incredibly flattering and they create shape for those who have smaller hip and look great on those with big hips too as they positively accentuate their shape.

This year I am loving bold colours as you can really make a statement on the beach. This season we are spoilt for choice in bikini styles; the list is never-ending from the classic triangle to this seasons scoop bikinis and the bandeau style, you will definitely find something that makes you look great while you top up your tan.

One of the places I have been looking for swimwear is Primark. They have a great red bikini set in at the moment which is super cheap and would be very flattering on a lady with a pear shaped body. I have myself purchased the all in one swimsuit from River Island which is great for tummy control and looks super flattering and classy inspired by Farah Fawcett. Zara have some beautiful costumes along with online boutique, Boohoo.

My moto for swimwear shopping is to spend wisely. You don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds to look good on the beach. Of course if you live in a hot climate, you may need to invest but as we tend not to have the sun, it’s not essential.

Some quick tips for feeling great in your swim wear. Be bold and don't worry about what other people think, if you like a style and suits you go for it.

Try to go for swimwear that suits your body.

Pear shaped ladies may find that a low rise regular bottom paired with a plunging or eye catching top will proportion you nicely.

Fuller bust girls should look into underwire or moulding for support, smaller bust ladies may want to look into embellishments, bows or patterning to create the illusion of a bigger chest.

Athletic shaped girls with less curves can try create the illusion of shape with minimal coverage on top, but with exciting patterns and embellishments; the smaller the bottom the better, the high rise bottom creates the look of a bigger behind and don't forget tie side makes your curves look better.

Cover ups are also very flattering. Online site, Farfetched have some beautiful cover ups, swimwear, accessories such as hats,  jewellery and anklets that will complete your look.

Swimwear is about having fun so be bold and be bright!
